Come up here, it's 50 and just barely moist. Actually, the weather radar has been hilarious lately. We're in the hole of a green donut: rain everywhere but RIGHT over my house.

    • The lower passes were a snowy, soupy mess. The higher pass? Only rain. Whether has been so weird lately.

I saw on Cliff Mass that there is a dump expected in the mountains? Be safe when you head home!

Yeah, it's not going to be pretty tomorrow.

We were completely drenched at the game. It wasn't your normal PNW rain. This shit hurt. Heavy rain and strong wind = rain that fucking HURTS. I was drenched though before kickoff.

AT THE GAME?!! Oh, I know some people who would be jealous, LOL. But on the other hand, many of the most rabid fans around here managed to go too. Hope you enjoyed it despite the weather!

              • We hit 41° yesterday. A 65° difference from a few days ago.

We were in the Hawks Nest, so pretty much smack in the middle of the most rabid fans. It was a blast, but I've never been so wet and cold in my life.

I always forget how wet the west side is until we get there. East side of the mountains is FAR less wet. The difference is amazing.

I love our location. We have half the rain of Seattle. Still twice the rain of your area, but at least we don't have to irrigate much in the spring and fall (we get a little droughty in the summer...) and we get less than half your snowfall.

                    • Felt the first dread yesterday to realize this weather could continue for the next four months. If that's the case we're not even halfway through winter.

Nope - not so. I promise.

By mid March the snow will melting and by April the snowdrops will be blooming and daffodils will be coming up. A month from now it starts to ease up. This coincides nicely with the time that you begin to think that a jury would not convict you of murdering your housemates (spouse, children, pets) because of cabin-fever.

ETA: Yes, we can have some snow even in May, but that doesn't last and the normal temps at that time of year are anywhere from the 50's to the 70's.

Good to know, I just remember last winter (first winter here) when it didn't even really start snowing til February and Spring didn't come full bloom til the last week in May. Not the norm?

                          • I don't think there is a "norm" here anymore!

If I can make it through February without stabbing somebody, it'll be a miracle. I. Need. Sunshine.
I'm just trying to make it out alive!
